have done an encouraging trip from Bangalore to Kollur. The trip was
procrastinated for almost a decade or two.
However, the trip was really enjoyable all the way not only because of some old wish is getting satisfied but also with the awesome weather we had during the month of Jul-Aug (with the rainy but still enjoyed a lot)

The route that I have taken and suggesting to all of you is
Bangalore -Shimoga-Ayanur-Ripponpet-Hosanagara-Nagara-Nittur-Kollur
The
road is in excellent condition till Kollur, thanks for the effort from
Government to keep the road in nice condition even during
the monsoon season.
From Shimoga, if you take
any other route you may need to drive extra miles. But this route will take you
near to Kudajadri and then to Kollur.
It was one of my good
trips that I had in last 10 yrs or so.
Kudajadri to Kollur is
concrete road, bit slippery.
